Stockton Shopmobility has conducted a survey amongst its customers, regarding the accessibility and standard of disability awareness, in local shops and businesses in Stockton Town Centre.
It has been found that many premises do not yet comply with regulations that first became law in 2004 and Shopmobility is keen to work with any shop or business to assist in rectifying this.
Shopmobility has started talks with Town Centre Management, who are also keen to improve facilities within Stockton Town Centre.
Although not qualified to do official access audits, Shopmobility Charity Trustees have a range of disabilities and would be willing to carry out practical assessments. |
