Shopmobility have, for hire, electric scooters, power chairs, manual wheelchairs (both self-propelling and attendant varieties) and walking aids to assist people with impaired mobility.
These items can be hired short or long term dependent on your needs. Full details can be found by clicking on the charges link below or on the left.
Our Shopmobility Escorts can provide peace of mind, by keeping an eye on you, carrying your bags, or reaching things down from high shelves. You may have a friend or relative who normally takes you shopping but what if they go away or you perhaps want to buy them a surprise gift? Shopmobility can give a break to your carer, knowing that you are in safe hands.
Our escorts are trained in wheelchair handling and dealing with people with physical and visual impairments, so you can be sure that you will be looked after.
They cannot assist you with toileting but will take you into a toilet and wait outside until you are finished. They are not allowed to assist with clothing.
Escorts cannot enter licensed premises such as pubs and clubs but can go with you for a cup of tea or coffee. However as they are volunteers it would be appreciated, if you paid the cost of this.
